PICK UP: Pick Up will take place between 12:00pm - 12:30pm for Half Day Morning Campers, from 4:00pm - 4:30pm for Half Day Afternoon & Full Day Campers and from 4:00pm - 6:00pm for Extended Day Campers. If any other adult will be picking up a camper, we must be told during sign in, and records must be updated.

LEAVING ALONE: If you want your child to leave alone and you did not indicate so during registration, you must let us know during sign in and sign a waiver.

ALL CAMPERS MUST BRING THEIR OWN LUNCH: Upon arrival, lunches will be placed in a cooler designated to your child's camp group. Candy, snacks, NUTS, ANY NUT BASED FOODS and seeds are not allowed at camp. We have a number of campers who face the risk of serious allergic reaction to nuts so please strictly adhere to our no-outside snacks policy. Please send your child with a sufficient lunch, and make sure your child doesn't arrive at camp hungry. Children expend a lot of energy at camp so please be sure your child eats breakfast. Drinking sweetened beverages in the morning gives children a false sense of hunger satisfaction and they become tired and hungry before lunch time. Campers are not allowed to bring their own beverages into the gym. If your child wants a drink aside from water for lunch, that is allowed, but please keep the sports drinks, juices and sodas out of the gym.

WEATHER: Please note that parts of SB Camp will take place outdoors. Camp will NOT be cancelled for rain or heat. If there is lightning we will seek shelter and stay socially distanced inside the school, but will otherwise get wet when it rains and sweaty when it is hot. Sunscreen will be provided and reapplied as needed.

WHAT TO WEAR: Campers should be ready to sweat. All players should bring basketball sneakers, shorts and a t-shirt. Full Day and Extended day campers are encouraged to bring 1-3 fresh t-shirts and a change of socks if they want to change out of their sweaty clothes at lunch time. Players should dress for rainy days with additional change of clothes, socks and shoes. On rainy days we will keep bags inside to ensure they stay dry.

WHAT NOT TO BRING: Campers should not bring money unless they are leaving camp on their own. Cell phones and video games are not allowed at camp and must be kept in backpacks throughout the day. To avoid the temptation and possible loss, it's better to leave them at home.

WHAT TO EXPECT: At Steady Buckets Basketball camp we try hard to provide an encouraging environment where children learn basketball by having fun and working hard. We teach basketball fundamentals and then practice them during competitive but friendly games. Each child is placed initially in a group based on age. Sometimes a child is moved to another group on day 1 to assure he or she is playing with others with a similar range of skills, but once the first half of Monday is over, groups will not change. Your child may be one of the best in the group, or may be among players with stronger skills. Sometimes, because the pool of ages and skills at camp changes every week, a player may be separated from friends or may change groups from one week to the next and may think of it as a demotion. We ask that you help your child understand the value of various situations: being with old friends and making new friends; being admired by others as one of the best in the group, or being challenged to improve. We know it's important to make sure each child is in a group that will provide lots of opportunities, and our experience is that, with a positive attitude from our staff and you, everyone has fun learning and playing the game.

WHAT ISN'T OK: It's our job to provide a positive environment for fun and learning. We do not allow negative comments on or off the court. We talk to our campers about this and our coaches are instructed to intervene every time they hear anything negative. We may need your help. Please let Coach Macky know if your child tells you about anything negative that happened at camp that we may have missed.

CONTACTING US DURING THE DAY: We do not monitor email regularly during the day. Also, cell phone service is limited in the gym. To contact us during the day or in case of an emergency please txt Coach Macky at 646-734-4395. He will be checking his text messages on a regular basis. Please text your name, your child's name and the nature of your emergency.

We are very excited for Camp and look forward to seeing you all in the gym.
